Newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of the Royal Lion Hotel Newsletter for 2012, thank you for taking a few moments to keep up to date with all our latest news. We have lots planned for 2012 including special events, a little facelift for our Patio and Balcony rooms and an exciting new menu for The Royal Lion Inn, once again reflecting the changing seasonal produce available.
We have put together some great special events for January, February and March to tempt you out of your winter boltholes. Firstly why not treat your Valentine with a most romantic escape at The Royal Lion Hotel. Available between 10th February and 15th February 2012 we are offering a package which starts the moment you arrive with a warm welcome and a bottle of specially selected Champagne and chocolate truffles ready for you in the privacy of your bedroom. Then you can pamper Valentine and enjoy our leisure facilities including our 45ft swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, followed in the evening by a delightful candlelit dinner, prepared by Peter Alcroft our Executive Head Chef and his team, and served in our elegant Oak Room Restaurant under the watchful eye of our Restaurant Manager Tony Dart.
Later that month will be the hotly anticipated return of the Fossil Weekends, Friday 25th February until Sunday 27th February 2012, a great favourite with many of you. Your fossil guides, Paddy and Chris have extensive experience and will offer you the chance to see up close, real specimens of all the well-known local fossils, followed the next day with a fossil walk between Lyme Regis and Black Ven, giving you a chance to explore the local area, and investigate the famous geology of the Jurassic coast in their capable hands.
Also during February we look forward to welcoming our junior patrons and their families through the half term period. As usual they will be able to enjoy our 45ft swimming pool with Mum, to challenge Dad in our games room, and of course an opportunity for you all to explore the rugged coastline. With Family rooms available from £351.00 for a two night stay, based on one child sharing with two adults, including full English breakfast on both mornings, and dinner for parents on both evenings. A children’s menu is available or alternatively half portions may be chosen from the dinner menu at £15.00 for two courses.
Following on from our very successful Murder Mystery Weekend in November, I am delighted to inform you that we have secured the services of the same entertainers for our forthcoming evening Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March 2012, another opportunity to play the sleuth and solve the most despicable of crimes, and to enjoy an exquisite candlelit dinner in our Oak Room Restaurant.
Finally with the London Olympics closer than ever, many of you are no doubt aware that Weymouth in Dorset will be hosting Olympic events, so once again I would like to politely remind our valued returning guests, who would normally stay with us during this time, to please book now, so that we can assure accommodation for them during this busy period. If you would like further information about our plans, please do not hesitate to contact me so I can take care of all the details personally.
Don’t forget to watch this space, for further exciting special offers and further news through 2012.
I look forward to welcoming you to The Royal Lion Hotel very soon.
