SPRING 2010 NEWSLETTER

Welcome to my first letter as the new general manager of the Royal Lion Hotel. My name is Michael Baldwin I have moved to the Royal Lion Hotel after spending 7 years working in 3 and 4 star hotels in Bournemouth and before those 4 star hotels in London and my home county of Norfolk. Since starting here I have seen Christmas come and met many of our loyal guests both old and new and look forward over the coming year to meeting many more.

Over the last 2 months and in the near future we have lots of exciting projects going on here at the Royal Lion. The Monmouth lounge now has the feel of old style comfort and luxury with large comfy sofas, where you can sit and relax with rich Italian coffee from our new state of the art coffee machine and piece of homemade cake from our kitchens. We have 4 bedrooms currently under refurbishment and hope to have them ready for Easter. We also have new carpets and lighting being fitted in the Oak Room to enhance your dining experience with us. When you next arrive you will also notice a change in reception as the desk is on the move.

This December we are going to hold a wine weekend, where you can come and sample wines from across Dorset and Devon and also an afternoon at a local vineyard, finished with a gala wine tasting dinner on the Saturday evening.

To finish the Royal Lion year in style we are offering party nights on 2 weekends throughout December, a luxury Christmas package and a Gala New Years Eve ball.
